The community is at the elevation between 900m to 1,600m and surrounded by high mountain from 1000m to 2000m. Famous tourist spots, such as Fengqihu, Fengshan, Laiji and Ruili are nearby. Tourists can see the secluded and beautiful ecological environment, greenish and lively tea garden which supports the livelihood of many locals.
Tea garden occupies 2,200 hectare of land in Chiayi County and 7 villages from the east of Tai Ping in Meishan Township combined occupy more than 1,000 hectare, accounting for half of the production area of Chiayi County. The tea gardens in Meishan are often located at the altitude between 800m to 1,500m and produce Alishan high altitude tea, mainly Qin Shin Oolong and Jin Xuan.
Thus, in addition to abundant natural resources, “High Mountain Oolong” is another important industry which Tai Ping takes pride in. Many tourists flush to Tai Ping on weekends or consecutive holidays to experience contented and relaxing life as tea farmers. The tea industry gradually develops to agricultural tourism which is common in Taiwan industry.
Moreover, there are Jiaogao bamboo, Moso bamboo, camellia oil, sugar, plums, ficus pumila var.awkeotsang Makino, persimmons, honey peaches and nectarines for tourists to taste.
