Located at the altitude of around 1500m, Long-Yun is surrounded by the forest. Walking along the Pei-Zai-Tong forest path, visitors can ascend up to the cryptomeria woods. If you consider the cement path paved by Forestry Bureau too insipid, go forward for about 100m and there is an man-carved walking path. Although walking on it is not as easy as on the forest path, it is filled with the breath of life more.
Long-Yun Recreational Farm sits in Zhonghe Village, Zhuqi Township, Chiayi County, 55km far from Chiayi City. Due to its location which is administered by the Ali Mt. Forestry Bureau, from there, visitors can view beautiful scenery around Long-Yun Holiday Farm: located in the east are Ali Mountain, Ta Mountain and Jade Mountain; the north, Caoling, Lai-Ji and Fong Mt. Scenery; the northwest, Fengchuhu; and the south, Ali Mt. Road and aboriginal tribes including Le-Ye and Da-Bang. Ali Mountain, Fong Mountain, Da-He, Rwei-Li, Da-Bang, Chu-Kou and Jade Mountain National Park Scenery Area all center the Long-Yun Holiday Farm, which is consequently very easy to gain access to.
Every season there are different sights, fruits and vegetables on the farm. For example, from December to April are the time for various species of cherry blossoms; from April to July are the season for bamboo shoots; and from August to November it is Ai-yu’s turn to be in season. What’s more, inside Long-Yun Holiday Farm stands a “ herbal plants garden”, which contains more than thousands of herbs, serving as a place for visitors to know such kinds of plants. In addition to plants, there are also abundant species of wild animals, such as swinhoe’s pheasants, owls, flying squirrels, reeves’s muntjacs, rhino beetle and stag beetles, etc. As a result, Long-Yun Holiday Farm can be viewed as a small wild animal zoo and the best place for families to meet Taiwanese animals.
