A new “Modern Literature Pathway” is built in Meishan Park based on the work of 32 writers and 30 stones are distributed in the 6-hectare park. The works of many heavyweights are also in the pathway, such as Gou Yi Sheng (the head of Alishan Township who died in White Terror), Lin Huai Min (founder of Cloud Gate”, Wu Nian Jin (well-known director), Chen Lie (first winner of UDN Literature Award), Yu Xian (former president of National Museum of Taiwan Literature), Duye (well-known poet), Lin Yang Min (father of Taiwanese Literature, the founder of Taiwan Literature Alliance), Hou Wen Yong (best-selling writer), Hou Ji Liang (master of poems, calligraphy, painting and seal cutting) and Lin Yan (first winner of Million Dollar China Times Award for Novels).
While walking on the pebble pathway, tourists can see the green garden and pleasant scenery. Plum, peach and prune flower, peonies, azaleas, cherry blossoms and poinsettia run riot in the garden. The colorful scene is really charming. Especially in the plum season, it is so poetic to sit in the plum pavilion, watch plum flower and drink plum tea.
