Tai Ping Scenic Area

There are 36 breathtaking bends from Meishan to Tai Ping (12.5 km) as the road twists and turns due to the contours of the mountains.From here, we can have a pleasant outlook of the Yun Jia Platform when the whether is clear.The best seasons for looking at the setting sun and night scene is summer and autumn, while the spectacular sea clouds can be seen in winter.
     Drive along the county road 162A, proceed to Tai Hsing Road and turn right, along the road there is wide scenery of mountains and fir forest on the right-hand side, and valley and bamboo forest on the left-hand side. Drive for 2.4km and arrive North Mao Bu. From the entrance here, walk downward along the path and reach the Wan Ping Rock, the Hsiang Feng Waterfall, and the Thousand-Year Cave.

Wan Ping Rock
Wan Ping Rock was called “Mao Tsu Pu Big Rock” in the past. It is a natural, big, flat rock of about 33 thousand square meters.It is precipitous on the north side and smooth on the south side. On the rock, there are streams of clear water.During the rain season, water pours down and forms spectacular waterfalls.

Hsiang Feng Waterfall
It is formed by the streams running down from the north side and south side of Wan Ping Rock and merging into a waterfall in the valley.Hsiang Feng Waterfall is surrounded by cliffs and serene forests.?The water falls in torrents during the rain season in summer. In winter, the amount of water declines sharply and delivers a gentle chill in the air.

Thousand-Year Cave
Thousand-Year Cave is a naturally formed rock cave of 15 meters long. Inside the cave, the ground is rough and uneven and the passage is cramped. It necessary to bring flashlights for the exploration as there is barely any light in the cave. “Hundred-Meter Peak” is a rock 100 meters high which leans at an angle of 60 degrees. There are ropes hanging on the rock for tourists to climb up.

“Chivalry Rui Tai” has been used as the theme for Rui Tai Tourist Service Center ever since the opening.? Rui Tai means the areas including Rui Li, Rui Feng and Tai Huo. Rui Tai’s chivalrous image originates from the bamboo forest, ancient paths, gorges and waterfalls.? When the wind blows and the bamboo leaves swing, it is not difficult to relate the scenery to movies in which ancient martial arts masters use ging gong (light body skill) to chase each others on the tips of bamboo leaves.

Swallow Cliff
Swallow Cliff is a protruding cliff like a roof.? The wall is full of apertures, and that is why the cliff is said to be swallows’ nesting place in the old times.? The scenery in this section is beautiful and pleasant.? Bamboo bridges are often seen in the valleys.? This is definitely a fresh and exciting way to cross the valleys.

Bat Cave
It is a big lime rock wall link to the Swallow Cave. Due to orogenesis and wind erosion, the rock wall has many cavities of various sizes, which is so spectacular, however, with no trace of bats.

Day 2
Rui Feng Scenic Area

     Rui Feng, located in Meishan Township of Chiayi County, is a beautiful and serene place with a primitive style.? Blossoms in spring, resort for summer, hiking in autumn and plum blossoms in the winter – it is a good place to travel for all seasons.

     The main characteristic of Rui Feng Scenic Area is the Rui Feng Geoge, surrounded by rich natural resources.? There are many kinds of forests, including the typical bamboo forests.? Besides, it produces fine agricultural products in huge quantity.? The beauty of Rui Feng Gorge is as beautiful as the Li Yu Chi Gorge in Chung Heng.? A miraculous scene starts from the Green Dragon and Silver Phoenix Waterfalls that merge into the Green Dragon Pool and pour down from the rock walls of the gorge and then scatter into clear streams.? The Green Dragon, which is 200 meters long with a gradient of 60 degrees, is one of the most special waterfalls in central-southern Taiwan.

By Chiayi County public bus, get off at the Tai Ping Stop.
Southern Highway No. 2: get off at Meishan Interchange, and then proceed to county road 162A.
Chung Shan Highway: get off at Chiayi Interchange, enter into Chiayi city, pass Lu Man and Meishan, and then connect to county road 162A to Tai Ping.

Rui Li Scenic Area
By Chiayi County public bus, get off at Meishan Stop.
Chung Shan Highway: get off at Chiayi Interchange, connect to county road No. 159 to Lu Man, and then connect to province road No. 3, via Meishan drive through county road No.162 to estate road.
Southern Highway No.2: get off at Meishan Interchange, drive along road 162A to Rui Li Scenic Area

Rui Li Scenic Area:
By By Chiayi County public bus, get off at Meishan Stop.
Chung Shan Highway: get off at Chiayi Interchange, connect to county road No.159 to Lu Man, and then connect to province road No.3, via Meishan and then proceed from country road No.162A to estate road.
Chung Shan Highway: get off at Tou Nan Interchange, connect to county road No. 158B, proceed from Yung Kuang via province road No. 3 to Meishan.? Then connect to county road No.162A.
Southern Highway No. 2:? get off at Meishan Interchange, drive along road No. 162A to Rui Li Scenic Area.

Rui Feng Scenic Area:
Chong Shan Highway: get off at Tou Nan Interchange, proceed towards Ku Keng direction, enter into Meishan and arrive Rui Feng.
Chong Shan Highway: get off at Chiayi Interchange, enter Chiayi city, pass through Lu Man and Meishan, and then connect to county road No. 162A towards Tai Li and arrive Rui Li.
Southern Highway No. 2: get off at Meishan Interchange, proceed towards Meishan, connect to county road No.162 and then follow the road signs.
