Day 2 Tseng Wen Reservoir

As a magnificent project of civil engineering, Tseng Wen Reservoir is built at the headstream of Tseng Wen Creek with 3 arc-shaped steel gates.? A memorial monument is erected on the top of the dam, on which is recorded the magnitude of the project and the hardships encountered in the process of its construction.? The 375-step "Hiking Trail of Tseng Wen Haohan Hill" is developed along the hill left to the monument.? Your heart will be opened up to the grandeur as you walk up the stairs, come to the shadows of the Taiwan acacia trees and look down on the dam of the Reservoir as well as the gorgeous views of the lake.
"Birds' Palace" Garden

Now we have come to the "Birds' Palace" Garden, which, by its very name, is a haven for the birds and pleasing to the eyes for the viewers because of the wonderful colors.? The Garden is a place for the visitors to appreciate the flowers, observe the different species of birds and take a short break.? In it are exotic species of birds such as the common pea fowls, Taiwan silver pheasants, ring-necked pheasants, white pea fowls and golden pheasants, et al, and illustrations with pictures are provided that introduce the ecological characteristics of these creatures, that are of significance both for viewing and education.

From Kaohsiung, take the bus to Tseng Wen Reservoir at the North Terminal of King's Bus, and get off at Jiayi Farm stop.
From Tainan, take the bus to Tseng Wen Reservoir at Singnan Bus Terminal, and get off at Jiayi Farm stop.
From Jiayi, take the bus of Jiayi Bus en route towards Dapu, Jiayi at Jiaan Bus Terminal, and get off at Jiayi Farm stop.
On Sun Yat Sen Expressway: Take the Sinying Interchange towards Sinying, and drive on Provincial Route 1 towards Gueigang.? Turn left at Provincial Route 174, go through Nansi Tunnel, and turn left at the fork.
On Sun Yat Sen Expressway: Take Jiayi Interchange towards Jiayi City and connect to Alishan Expressway (Provincial Route 18).? Proceed to the intersection and turn right at Provincial Route 3 (southbound) towards Dapu and drive towards Jiayi Farm Ecological Vacation Kingdom.
On Southern Expressway 2: Take Jhongpu Interchange towards Dingliu and Chuko, and connect to Alishan Expressway (Provincial Route 18).? Proceed to the intersection and turn right at Provincial Route 3 (southbound) towards Dapu and drive towards Jiayi Farm Ecological Vacation Kingdom.

Jiayi Farm is located on the lake shore of Tseng Wen Reservoir and surrounded by mountains, at the end of winding mountain roads.? Leading towards the place is a path full of trees and flowers on both sides, and the scent of python acid emitted from the forests and the scent from the Ceylon-olive trees fill the air.? In the midst of all are houses built with red tiles and white walls – these all provide a serene atmosphere away from the city life.
