:::   :::   Zengwun Reservoir Scenic Spot is the largest reservoir in Taiwan, located in the Liouteng Pond Canyon, the meeting point of Dapu Township in Chiayi County and Nansi Township in Tainan County. It supplies water for all agriculture and industry utilities in southwestern Taiwan and helps to prevent floods from occurrence, generate electricity, provide public water resources, and water the Jianan Plain, together with the Wushantou Reservoir. In addition to the spectacular hydraulic engineering landscape, the scenery around the reservoir is very beautiful. Peaks and ridges are all piled up with lush trees with reflections on the wavy green water, making it a hot tourist’s spot in southern Taiwan.     Landscapes in the scenic spot include the Riverside Recreation Area, the Bird Palace Garden, the Eye of Cenwun, the View-Watching Pavilion, the Jhongjheng Building, the Dapu Wharf, the Camping Area, and the Cenwun Youth Activity Center. In the Riverside Recreation Area, about 100 meters away from the front of the Dongkou Camping Area, there are water-playing, exercising, and bird-watching facilities and a maze, providing people to have fun around water. The Bird Palace Garden is a middle station for resting. There are more than ten rare species of birds and original wild animals and plants ecologies. Watching birds and flowers here is educational. The Eye of Zengwun is the tourist service center with a unique outlook. Standing on the top of the dam to view the reservoir from a far distance is very smoothing. Going further, you will arrive at the highest view-watching spot in the reservoir-the Jhongjheng Building. So far people have to climb up the stairs. Nevertheless, once the costly outdoor elevators and the view-watching hanging bridges are finished, it will be much more comfortable and convenient to enjoy the sight. The outlook of their steel structures really catches peoples'eyes. The elevators are more than 20 meters high. The hanging bridge is 30 meters long. They will be the landmarks of the Zengwun Reservoir for sure. People used to feed fish in box nets in Zengwun Reservoir, so there are a lot of fish in the water: President Fish, Bamboo-Shoot-Crust Fish, Wuliou Fish, Tiger Fish, etc. Since the opening of the fishing area on the shore, fresh fish have been the favorite for people who love to eat them. Restaurants by the water take good advantage of that and supply delicious reservoir fish dishes at fair prices. Many people go there just for the reason. Besides the view in Zengwun Reservoir, to dine on the reservoir fish here is also quite a joy. Zengwun Reservoir Scenic Spot is a beautiful place full of recreational facilities. It is good for families to have fun here. After visiting the pretty mountain and water at the Zengwun Reservoir, you may also stop by the Dapu Township to see the landscapes there and taste its local special products.
