Minsyong Rural Township's more than 72, 5000 people are concentrated in three areas of the township: the industrialized areas in the south which border Chiayi City; Minsyong proper, a typical bustling morning-markets-and-temples small, friendly Taiwanese town; and the until-recently thinly populated area around National Chung Cheng University.

That university is said to have the most beautiful campus in Taiwan. A small stream was dammed to create a picturesque lake, and much thought has been given to creating buildings that are practical, attractive, and individualistic all at the same time. What with the fresh air, good views, and convenient road links to Chiayi City and Dalin, it's no wonder that people are moving here.

But Minsyong hasn't forgotten its agricultural past. You'll see pineapple plantations and goose farms, and plenty of farmers working hard in their fields.
