If you travel between Chiayi City and Tainan County, you're almost certain to pass through Shueishang Rural Township. Both freeways and the north-south mainland railway cut through Shueishang, which is a mix of industrial suburbs (near Chiayi City), flat agricultural land (in the west), and betel-nut-covered hills (in the Far East). Moreover, Chiayi's airport is located in Shueishang.
Sugar has long played an important role in Shueishang's economy. The Nantsing Sugar Mill is still active, and throughout the township you'll see the skeleton of the narrow-gauge rail network once used by the sugar industry. These days, many of Shueishang's residents commute to Chiayi City for work.
There have three railway stations in the township: Shuishang, Beihui, Nanjing and an airport. And there is a symbol of Tropic Park which is a famous park in international. The Kuzhu temple, Geshu temple and other landscape is making into a list of historic interest by domestic affairs department. |
